Welcome!

Jukido is a Japanese style of Jujitsu founded by Paul Arel in 1959.  Jukido, a practical, realistic, and effective martial arts system, emphasizes self-defense through hard work and self discipline.  Students learn techniques to counter aggression, prevent fights and manage bullies.  Moves and techniques include:  rollouts, throws, take downs, evasions, ground escapes, wrist grabs, joint manipulations, and more.

Jukido relies on balance and agility rather than size and strength.  Jukido uses the attacker's strength against them.  There is no sparring or competitions in Jukido in order to focus and train on the implementation of proper technique.  Jukido is a great family activity (ages 6 & up).   We build confidence, not egos.  Safety, doing one’s best and fun is emphasized.

Continuous classes accomodate all skill levels.
There are no contracts, hidden fees, or uniform requirements.   Membership in the International Kokondo Association is required for those who obtain the rank of Yellow belt and higher.

We encourage you to browse our website to learn more about Jukido and for information about upcoming classes and events offered by our dojo in Simsbury CT.  We look forward to seeing you.
